Students can make either a classical or a flamenco guitar, following
traditional forms adding their own designs in certain areas, such
as the rosette and head
All materials will be provided (at extra cost) and will be of
good quality and well seasoned. We will have a few basic components
made
for the
course to speed up the initial processes but students will leave
with a high quality instrument having completed almost all of
the processes
themselves including basic french polishing. We will have some
machinery in the workshop to perform basic functions but the
emphasis
will be on developing handwork and fluency with tools and constructional
processes. I speak fluent spanish, a little french, almost no
japanese and lots of english.
I ask for students who have some basic experience with guitar
making or woodworking or are at least good with their hands..
Accomodation varies from self catering apartments, hotels or halfboard pension
. A
2 bed apartment will cost €550eur but could be shared with another
student or a studio costs 300eur. The pension option costs €550.
