'I have the great honour of owning a cedar top Stephen Hill guitar. It is a truly magical thing to play, with unbelievable sustain and seperation of voices as well as superb projection. The range and depth of colour and sounds that can be coaxed from the instrument is simply extraordinary. His guitars are simply a joy to play as well as looking beautiful. I cannot imagine playing anything else, they are truly inspiring. Stephen is such a nice guy as well and it was great to work him. I would highly recommend him to anyone.' Manus Noble Uk
" I have the great pleasure of owning two cedar top Stephen Hill guitars and have used his instruments in concert since 2001. They are truly remarkable guitars with fantastic projection and an amazing range and depth of colour. They also feel so nice to play and look beautiful. People are always coming up to me after recitals and asking about them. Stephen is a great maker to work with and I would highly recommend him to anybody." Gary Ryan
" I first heard Stephens guitars played by Gary Ryan and was instantly blown away by the quality of tone, balance across the strings, sustain and projection.
Having bought one for myself I am further impressed by this guitar after playing it along side instruments worth three times its value. Thanks to the lattice bracing it has sustain and projection beyond any guitar I have played and yet it has that dark warm sound you would associate with a traditional cedar guitar.
A combination of new and old which works perfectly." Gary Macleod (scotland)
"Without
any doubt, Stephen Hill guitars are top quality concert instruments.
I have enjoyed playing his guitars since 1992. They are a unique
blend of the fine, clear, pure sound of the English School; fused
with the solidity and projection more often associated with Spanish
makers. A musical pleasure to own." Paul Gregory
- Concert Guitarist
"I have to
say that she is a brammer! The sound reminds me a bit of the Gerundino
I sold, although I don't really want to suggest these comparisons
as your sound is unique. I would say however, that this guitar is
much better. There is a yearn with an earthy growl, It's hard to
describe in words but there's true quality and the voice is very
very Jondo. The whole guitar is alive and has excellent volume and
projection. I am very happy to be the owner and I will keep you
updated as she develops."Jim

" Stephen Hill constructs guitars like Ferrari builds Formula 1 cars: they are beautiful to look at, uncompromising in performance, and they sound amazing! He infuses his instruments with an innate sense of warmth, a twinkle-in-the-eye sense of humour, and a passion for all things 'guitar'." Dale Harris

"What was most important to me was that the guitar was obviously made with the player in mind. He has a natural sense of what makes a good Flamenco guitar."
